Grading Policy
The categories used for grading in elementary music are:
1. Participation (70%)
2. Skills Development (30%)
The criteria used to determine participation are as follows:
1. Student is present in class
2. Student is on task and trying their best
3. Student behaves in a positive and productive manner
4. Student participates in evening vocal music program once per year. (Worth 25% of quarterly participation grade.)
The criteria used to determine skills development involve written work (such as a quarterly written assessment over skills being taught in class) and informal performance assessments.
