The 2018-2019 school year will be my 8th as a teacher! I spent my first six years teaching 6th grade, and this will be my second year teaching 5th. I am loving the change! I teach 5th grade reading and math to my own class, and then I teach Language Arts to all 5th grade classes.
Before becoming a teacher at Silver Lake Elementary School, I taught 6th grade for three years in Oskaloosa, KS.
My husband and I got married in 2012, and we have lived in Silver Lake together since 2014. I grew up here, and he grew up in St. Marys, just a few miles down the road. We are both teachers in our hometowns. (Go Eagles!) We have two children, Mox and Mattox. Mox is three and loves sports, being outside, and playing in the pool. He sure loves having Mom and Dad home with him all summer. Mattox just turned one, and she loves doing whatever her brother is doing. We also have our first kiddo, our dog, Paisley. We got her right before we were married, and she is a mix of a Pug, Beagle, and Pekingese...quite the cutie!
In my very limited spare time, I enjoy coaching volleyball, going to K-State football and basketball games, and playing at home with my kids. We spend a lot of time outside, and my favorite thing to do is go play on the farm I grew up on. I also love spending time with my family, including my parents as much as I can.
